We sip on our welcome drinks as we make our way to the restaurant to enjoy a scrumptious buffet breakfast before the Quad Bike game drive. Visitors may expect to see the Big five which are Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard. Along these big five animals we get the opportunity to encounter other mammals such as Zebra, Giraffe, Eland, Springbok and Hippopotamus. The Rock of Cashel is fabled to have been created by St Patrick himself, the Rock predates this and was a seat of high importance in Ireland. Converted to a christian site in medieval times, it is dotted with structures almost 1,000 years old and a visit here is really a wonderful experience. From the Rock, we travel nearby to the medieval Hore Abbey and learn a little more about its development and influence on Irish history throughout the ages. From Hore Abbey, enjoy some time in Cashel town itself known for its great food and atmosphere before we continue to Cahir Castle. This Castle was used in the Film Braveheart and stands remarkably well preserved. One has the option to enjoy a guided tour, go self guided or perhaps enjoy a walk along the riverside before we return to Cork. Travel time from Cahir to Cork is 1 hour 15 minutes.
