A favorite Italian pastime is seeking out secluded coves, which then turn out to be anything but secluded. It's also surprising: the more arduous the approach, the greater the joy of finally reaching the destination. The Colombi cliffs are a prime example of this! First, you have to find a parking spot along the road. Make sure your car doesn't extend beyond the white line, otherwise you'll face a hefty fine. Once the parking dilemma is solved, the sometimes challenging descent begins, first via steps, then briefly over the rocks. It's not steep, but flip-flops can be slippery. The first small beach directly on the path is usually crowded, so it's straight into the water. Grab your bags and shoulder them, lifting your backpacks if necessary. When you walk around the rock at the edge of the cove, the water is waist-deep, and with a slight swell, even chest-deep. The view after rounding the rock may not be comparable to Leonardo DiCaprio's "The Beach," but it's still quite appealing. Once you've managed to grab a towel-sized patch of sand and secured your belongings somehow, you can get into the water, and the view of the bay from the water is even more beautiful. A path leads along the clifftop above the beach, and from there, at a height of perhaps 15 meters, you also have a very nice view of the bay below.
A little corner of paradise not to be missed! Spiaggia dei Colombi is truly enchanting: intimate, evocative, and immersed in stunning nature. The water is crystal clear, and the shape of the coastline makes it a fantastic experience for those who love to explore.
Putting on a snorkel and exploring the rocks, coves, and seabeds teeming with marine life was undoubtedly the highlight of the day. A perfect spot for those seeking clean water, tranquility, and a touch of underwater adventure. Highly recommended!
