During our stop in Mazatlan, we went on a shore excursion to Deer Island where we enjoyed kayaking, swimming, and a light lunch. It was a pleasant experience!

This beach is a beautiful spot to visit and was the highlight of our trip.
Great beach! My wife wanted to go to this beach and see what was going on. I was not interested because I wanted to stay in Mazatlan and enjoy the city. Reluctantly I decided to go with her. We got to the ferry and paid $40 pesos each for the ride over and back. It was a five minute ride. When we got off people started walking left but we went straight because a restaurant guy led us to the beach ahead. Walked through a rocky area which was not very sturdy but got to the beach okay. The beach was very nice and beautiful. And the water was calm. Very amazing. We walked for a while and picked a restaurant by the end of the beach. We got food and drinks and were allowed to use their lounge chairs and beach umbrellas for free. We stayed there eating and drinking and going to get our feet wet in the water. It was so nice and relaxing. We stayed there until we had to get back. The last ferry to the mainland was at 6 pm.
We loved our stay so much that we came back a few more times and did the same thing. I highly recommend a trip to Isla de la piedra. You won't regret it. 😊
