This beach in Panama is a must-visit. It may be difficult to reach and a bit expensive, with basic accommodations, but it is definitely worth the effort.
We stayed at Saladup for three nights in September 2019, during the rainy season. We encountered numerous small animals and experienced an unprecedented number of insect bites. Unfortunately, like many other islands in Guna Yala San Blas, Saladup is plagued with plastic bottles. Even when the beach is cleaned, the waste is often thrown back into the water. The water itself is heavily polluted with trash, including diapers and plastic. Overall, our one-month stay in San Blas was marred by these environmental issues.
