This beach is great, only about 45 minutes from the Porto/Gaia area and easily accessible by metro. The beach is so big that even on busy days, everyone is still well spread out. I really appreciate that Portuguese people are generally very well-mannered.
The water in Portugal is cold, which is common knowledge, but on a hot day, it feels refreshing and your body adapts quickly. The beach sand is soft and well-maintained, and the water is clean. It’s a great hangout place for family and friends. There are also some great restaurants nearby within a 10-minute walking distance.

Excellent beach with very soft well maintained sand , powerful waves and life guards on the beach , beach bars/restaurants on the beach , fantastic beach walks and then along the promenade to other beaches. Definitely well worth a visit to this lovely beach in a lively town with plenty to offer .
