This was a dream holiday for my family and me. To celebrate my dad's 70th birthday, all 26 of us headed to Lambazi for some quality time away. It was the perfect setting. The kids had plenty to do, from lagoon and sea swimming to bodyboarding, fishing, hiking, and snorkeling, while the adults enjoyed time together, relaxed, and completely switched off. The beaches were beautiful, and we even had a marshmallow bonfire one night. We created amazing memories and strengthened our family bonds. We're even tempted to make it an annual event because life just gets too busy!
A big thank you to Robbie and the team for going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. We truly appreciate the kindness you all showed us. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Our stay at Nqabara has been an experience unlike any other. It is a beautiful, untouched gem on our coastline. The views from the cabins are amazing, the cabin itself was cozy and had everything we needed and more. The staff was friendly and made our stay extremely comfortable. There is a cleaning lady that comes in every morning and a man that cleans out the braai and brings firewood which contributed to a lovely, relaxing holiday. We loved the small touches like the pure honey and fresh baked bread. Most of all we loved experiencing nature - being on the kayaks in the river, hearing the symphony of bird calls, walking the riverbanks and on the beach and fishing. GREAT place for birdwatching and fishing! I would definitely recommend this place to nature lovers who don't mind putting their walking shoes on to go and explore the wonderful spots this place has to offer.

I stayed at the hotel as a guest with the Bhejane Pondoland Adventure group. We checked in on 28.04.2024 and checked out on 30.04.2024.
Nothing could have prepared me for the condition of the room I received. If I had made the bookings myself, this is not a hotel I would have chosen. During my stay, the hotel was completely run down and visibly dirty, to say the least. A deep cleaning, hiring a professional chef, and bringing in professional hospitality management to run the place would be a good starting point.
A complete facelift is essential. The location of the hotel is great with respect to the ocean view, etc.

Overall the Mbotyi river lodge is a magical place! The main building has an amazing view of the river and the sea. Tasty dinner and breakfast buffet. Perfectly located since the area has several beautiful waterfalls, cliffs, and beaches. We hiked to Waterfall Bluff and Cathedral Rock, two amazing places that were accessible through a pad. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they gave us great recommendations of things to see and do in the area (like the hike to waterfall bluff). Wish we could've spent more time here and would recommend it to others!!

In general, the Mbotyi river lodge is a truly enchanting destination! The main building offers a breathtaking view of both the river and the sea. The dinner and breakfast buffet are delicious. The location is ideal as there are numerous stunning waterfalls, cliffs, and beaches in the area. We had the opportunity to hike to Waterfall Bluff and Cathedral Rock, two extraordinary places that were easily accessible via a path. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with excellent recommendations for things to see and do in the area (such as the hike to waterfall bluff). We only wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend it to others!

Such a beautiful, clean, quiet beach especially on public holidays when the main beach is full. There are these caves you can sit under for shade and there's a mini waterfall flowing from the rocks. A natural rock pool you can chill in.
I hope this prestine beach stays this way. Clean, quite, close to the natives and animals. Best beach experience in a long time.

Such a beautiful, clean, quiet beach especially on public holidays when the main beach is full. There are these caves you can sit under for shade and there's a mini waterfall flowing from the rocks. A natural rock pool you can chill in.
I hope this prestine beach stays this way. Clean, quite, close to the natives and animals. Best beach experience in a long time.

I stayed at the hotel as a guest with the Bhejane Pondoland Adventure group. We checked in on 28.04.2024 and checked out on 30.04.2024.
Nothing could have prepared me for the condition of the room I received. If I had made the bookings myself, this is not a hotel I would have chosen. During my stay, the hotel was completely run down and visibly dirty, to say the least. A deep cleaning, hiring a professional chef, and bringing in professional hospitality management to run the place would be a good starting point.
A complete facelift is essential. The location of the hotel is great with respect to the ocean view, etc.
