The beach has a smallish parking lot with waste containers and a vast, broad beach of golden fine sand. At the northern end, the beach is lined with dunes sparsely dotted with vegetation. It's a bright, sunny and quiet spot, except for the wind which can be quite strong. During the high season, there are a few scattered chiringuitos open for business.

We were here during a major wind storm Feb 2023 and all Ferries were cancelled. 3 unexpected days spent here and we checked it all out. The beaches are huge and Tarifa is sooooo walkable. A great time watching kite surfers and wind surfers. 2 castles to see, many wonderful places to eat and shop. Prices are a smidge higher due to all the ferry traffic.

Sandy Bay Beach is far from ideal for a laid-back day in the sun. The sand is alright, but if you're looking for some seclusion, the rocky areas are not much of a refuge. The temperature of the water is quite chilly, given its proximity to the entrance of the Mediterranean Sea, and while it was bearable when we visited in August, it could be much worse. There are a few places to get food and drinks, as well as water boards, but overall it's not the most pleasant beach to spend time at.

This spot located between the marina and the centennial park forms a small bay, but unfortunately it is not well taken care of. The access is dangerous and increasingly deteriorated, with no maintenance. It could be a beautiful beach, but sadly it is becoming increasingly sunken with less and less sand each season. It seems that in Algeciras there are only two beaches, Rinconcillo and Getares, while the others are disappearing from the map, such as Los bricks, Piedra Morena, El Chinarral. Despite this, the beach is still easily accessible and with some care from the department of beaches, it could be a great spot on the Costa del Sol.
