It also has a section dedicated to sports, making it a great place to have some fun. The sand is soft and the water is crystal-clear - the perfect place to take in the beauty of nature.

This location is certainly not a resort. It's a pebbly beach at the end (or midpoint or start) of a long hike. There are no toilets, just a few vendors selling boat tickets and cold drinks. The pier is great for swimming, but there's not a lot of shade.

I only gave this beach 4 stars because it lacks a nice kiosko to get refreshments and snacks without having to leave the sand, and it's not the best one to swim, las vistas beach is possibly the best in the south of Tenerife, and Torviscas a lot better to experience the sunset whilst sipping a fresh mojito; but what you can experience in playa del Beril I believe you cannot feel in any other beach at Tenerife... This has to do with the fact that this beach doesn't actually have black sand on it. It's quite new (around 2017 - 2018) and instead of sand it has crushed "picón", which looks very similar but feels completely different. Picón is what the locals call those small, 1 - 2 cm, pebbles that originate as volcanic ejecta; it's the lava as it comes out of a live volcanic eruption at around 1200°C and flies hundreds of meters into the air quickly cooling and breaking up into these small pieces more or less round but with very sharp interstices. Picón is mined and used for everything from reinforcement in concrete mixes, golf courses in Lanzarote (some a beautiful shade of red) to walkways on rural homes or in this case to fake black sand. This is a long explanation but bear with me, it's important to understand the origin of the black "sand" at El Beril Beach and what happened to it has gotten worn in the last 6 - 7 years. When I first came to this beach walking barefoot from the El Duque Beach, which is actual light gray sand extracted from the bottom of the sea; it actually hurt more than a bit. I have thick skin on my feet and yet I was very uncomfortable walking on that black mineral. The machine that crushed the picón into this artificial covering, breaks it up into smaller pieces with sharp edges, but after all of these years of waves churning the material most of the sharp edges are gone, yet it retains the feel of pumice and it's diameter is just perfect to massage your toes as you walk on the beach but just where the water reaches the beach. Higher up the beach it doesn't hurt like it did a few years back but it doesn't feel as good either. The right spot is about a meter below and a meter above the line where the water hits the "sand". This might sound trivial, some might even think why has this guy spent so much time describing the sand of a beach in such detail. But this you have to experience for yourself to understand. It can be almost magical! If you arrive at Tenerife suffering intense jet lag, before you do anything else, just take off your shoes, roll up the bottom of your pants and walk slowly at El Beril's beach "orilla" - the water edge. A couple hundred meters will make you feel so much better, you will want to walk further the next day and the day after. I don't think there's another beach in Tenerife, that will make you feel like you've been on the hands of an world class masseuse and totally free on top of it. The only way I think this experience could be improved on is if you could have an ice cold beer or a fresh mojito with you whilst enjoying this simple yet so special treatment only available at La Playa del Beril; this why no 5 stars until it gets a seaside kiosko. Try this low tech remedy for jet lag or just sore feet and leg muscles: it will leave you smiling and ready for a second treatment the next day. Very recommended!

Great spot to visit if you're looking for a place to relax without being surrounded by tons of people. During January, it's the perfect getaway since it's never too busy. The scenery is simply stunning, making it a great place to take in the beauty of nature.

Fañabé Beach is our favorite beach! It's very safe for children, has clean restrooms, and a wide variety of restaurants just a few minutes' walk away. The water is crystal clear, making it perfect for a family day out. Highly recommended!

Great quiet beach with not many people around. It’s made of sand and at the end are some small pebbles/stones. There are indeed no bars, beds, toilets, etc. at the beach, but honestly I found that rather pleasant! I don’t like big crowded, busy, noisy beaches and our apartment was just uphill (AirBnB). Came here for a few weeks in a row and it’s always pleasant and very clean and never busy. For swimming I would highly recommend water shoes and swimming at high tide is easier then with the low tide, because of the big stones that are hidden in the water. Swimming is not dangerous at all, as long as you don’t swim across the two big rocks on each side. From there the tide is more powerful and you might need a little bit more experienced, but other then that it’s perfect. I saw a lot of families with small children too, and it seemed perfectly suitable for them with their stroller and babies/toddlers to be at this beach. A lot of families returned almost every day. Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet, clean, sand beach that gives you the paradise feeling, I would definitely recommend this one. If you, however, like more buzz, bars, lounge chairs, I would recommend going to Los Christianos or Las Americas.

Welcome to Atlantis. A place located a few hundred meters from the main beach of San Juan; at the moment the roads are blocked due to the risk of landslides... but there is always a way in for those who know how to take it ;) it has a fairly long and steep route to reach it, it's called Paseo de Agua Dulce, but when you get there, you'll be amazed open - and without anyone seeing you because it's just you and nature, it can also be considered a nudist beach. It needs some reform. It has fully erect walls, be careful with the stairs! Worthy of note and absolutely worth seeing if you need to disconnect and take an afternoon totally surrounded by nature 😊

Great! The sand is soft and the stones close to the shore make it a unique experience. There is also a clean unisex toilet, and the coffee prices are fair, at 1.5 € with friendly direct beach service. Plus, parking is free and there is a lifeguard and good swimming spot. Best of all, it's easy to access, so you can enjoy it without any hassle.

Since our last visit, Playa San Juan has undergone great improvements. Now it is a delightful spot to experience South Tenerife without the hustle and bustle of the nearby resorts. The beach and boulevard are especially accessible with walk boards and a covered area for wheelchairs.

Playa de la Pinta is ideal for those looking for a place to relax. It's got a great location near shops, and a cool inflatable obstacle in the sea. Sun beds are reasonably priced at €6 for the day, and it's not too crowded, even in the peak of summer. The only downside is the vendors who can be quite persistent. It's also worth noting that the beach is frequented by nudists.

It was mid-November and the weather was pleasant, however the sea was still a bit chilly. The beach was surprisingly spotless, but that didn't make up for the cold water.

There are a lot of people, but you can always find a spot for yourself. The black sand, when it gets hot, can burn bare feet. Beautiful views, and you can spot large crabs. Highly recommend.

Playa de Barranco Seco is an ideal place to relax and unwind. Though it's a bit of a trek - about two hours from Tamaimo - it's well worth it for the peace and quiet you'll find here. Highly recommended.

I only gave this beach 4 stars because it lacks a nice kiosko to get refreshments and snacks without having to leave the sand, and it's not the best one to swim, las vistas beach is possibly the best in the south of Tenerife, and Torviscas a lot better to experience the sunset whilst sipping a fresh mojito; but what you can experience in playa del Beril I believe you cannot feel in any other beach at Tenerife... This has to do with the fact that this beach doesn't actually have black sand on it. It's quite new (around 2017 - 2018) and instead of sand it has crushed "picón", which looks very similar but feels completely different. Picón is what the locals call those small, 1 - 2 cm, pebbles that originate as volcanic ejecta; it's the lava as it comes out of a live volcanic eruption at around 1200°C and flies hundreds of meters into the air quickly cooling and breaking up into these small pieces more or less round but with very sharp interstices. Picón is mined and used for everything from reinforcement in concrete mixes, golf courses in Lanzarote (some a beautiful shade of red) to walkways on rural homes or in this case to fake black sand. This is a long explanation but bear with me, it's important to understand the origin of the black "sand" at El Beril Beach and what happened to it has gotten worn in the last 6 - 7 years. When I first came to this beach walking barefoot from the El Duque Beach, which is actual light gray sand extracted from the bottom of the sea; it actually hurt more than a bit. I have thick skin on my feet and yet I was very uncomfortable walking on that black mineral. The machine that crushed the picón into this artificial covering, breaks it up into smaller pieces with sharp edges, but after all of these years of waves churning the material most of the sharp edges are gone, yet it retains the feel of pumice and it's diameter is just perfect to massage your toes as you walk on the beach but just where the water reaches the beach. Higher up the beach it doesn't hurt like it did a few years back but it doesn't feel as good either. The right spot is about a meter below and a meter above the line where the water hits the "sand". This might sound trivial, some might even think why has this guy spent so much time describing the sand of a beach in such detail. But this you have to experience for yourself to understand. It can be almost magical! If you arrive at Tenerife suffering intense jet lag, before you do anything else, just take off your shoes, roll up the bottom of your pants and walk slowly at El Beril's beach "orilla" - the water edge. A couple hundred meters will make you feel so much better, you will want to walk further the next day and the day after. I don't think there's another beach in Tenerife, that will make you feel like you've been on the hands of an world class masseuse and totally free on top of it. The only way I think this experience could be improved on is if you could have an ice cold beer or a fresh mojito with you whilst enjoying this simple yet so special treatment only available at La Playa del Beril; this why no 5 stars until it gets a seaside kiosko. Try this low tech remedy for jet lag or just sore feet and leg muscles: it will leave you smiling and ready for a second treatment the next day. Very recommended!

Great spot to visit if you're looking for a place to relax without being surrounded by tons of people. During January, it's the perfect getaway since it's never too busy. The scenery is simply stunning, making it a great place to take in the beauty of nature.

Fañabé Beach is our favorite beach! It's very safe for children, has clean restrooms, and a wide variety of restaurants just a few minutes' walk away. The water is crystal clear, making it perfect for a family day out. Highly recommended!

The beach could have been incredible, but it was missing some key amenities. There were no restrooms, no loungers, and no food or drinks. To get there, you had to take a 25-minute hike over some very rocky terrain. It was a bit of a letdown.

This place has clean, gray sand and is a great spot for swimming, although it can get quite choppy at times and the lifeguard is always on duty. You can lie on your towels for free or pay 4 euros for a sunbed for the day. I've been twice and both times there was a red flag due to the strong waves.
