A fantastic beach and small town, parking right on the sea front, steeped with history as this was one of the places the Torrey Canyon oil tanker contaminated, with a huge oil slick everywhere, and you can still see the oil stains in the rockface. Great restaurant/cafe bang on the beach and the surf is great for surfing, and you have a 3 mile sandy beach, worth a holiday here....be warned that the tide, when it turns, races in super fast.

Perfect beach for paddling,canoeing, or paddle boarding really calm where the sea starts to meet the river. There are a few caves around the area too, which for the size of the openings for quite deep too. And if you are a pert of the national trust, you get to park for free here too

The beach is stunning and expansive, with the added bonus of connecting to neighboring beaches in St Ives Bay during low tide. It's also dog-friendly throughout the year.

This beach is absolutely stunning, the most beautiful one we've ever seen! It can be a bit tricky to find and access, making it not ideal for those with pushchairs or in wheelchairs. After driving down to the surrounding hillside and walking past a freshwater lake and cobbles, we finally reached this breathtaking beach.
Walking barefoot along the long and beautiful stretch of sand felt like a slice of Heaven - peaceful, spacious, and calming. The beach was virtually deserted, with the soothing sound of the waves and the vast blue sky above.
We enjoyed watching the surfers and collecting rocks and pebbles.
The only downside was that many people brought their dogs to the beach, which wasn't a problem except for the occasional bag of dog waste left at the entrance, tarnishing an otherwise beautiful spot.

Towan Beach is centrally located in Newquay, one of Cornwall's most vibrant and popular towns. Nestled at the base of a steep hill, the beach is flanked by the harbour to the west and 'The Island,' a towering rocky outcrop connected to the mainland by a suspension footbridge, to the east. It's a fantastic spot to unwind. The water is clear, and the shoreline is so inviting that you'll find it hard to resist taking off your clothes and diving in for a swim. The area is surrounded by delicious food options and boasts a great atmosphere!

I almost hesitate to share this review, fearing that more people will discover this slice of paradise. The accommodation is top-notch and situated right on the beach. The 3-bedroom apartment is impeccably clean, featuring a living/dining area and a small kitchenette. The balcony offers breathtaking views. The only downside is the restaurant's food quality, which is subpar and overpriced. However, there are plenty of excellent and reasonably priced dining options nearby. With everything else being absolutely superb, an improvement in the restaurant experience would elevate this place beyond a 5-star rating. I highly recommend it, but suggest dining out or using local supermarkets for convenience. Note that the area is quite hilly and steep, making it less suitable for older or less mobile individuals. There are about 150-200 steps to the main road, which can be challenging for those with mobility issues.

The beach is fantastic, although you do have to navigate some steep steps to reach it as it descends from the cliff (and you'll have to climb back up later). However, the effort is definitely worth it. The beach offers stunning scenery, a peaceful atmosphere, and interesting rock formations and caves to explore when the tide recedes.

A fantastic beach and small town, parking right on the sea front, steeped with history as this was one of the places the Torrey Canyon oil tanker contaminated, with a huge oil slick everywhere, and you can still see the oil stains in the rockface. Great restaurant/cafe bang on the beach and the surf is great for surfing, and you have a 3 mile sandy beach, worth a holiday here....be warned that the tide, when it turns, races in super fast.

This beach is absolutely stunning, the most beautiful one we've ever seen! It can be a bit tricky to find and access, making it not ideal for those with pushchairs or in wheelchairs. After driving down to the surrounding hillside and walking past a freshwater lake and cobbles, we finally reached this breathtaking beach.
Walking barefoot along the long and beautiful stretch of sand felt like a slice of Heaven - peaceful, spacious, and calming. The beach was virtually deserted, with the soothing sound of the waves and the vast blue sky above.
We enjoyed watching the surfers and collecting rocks and pebbles.
The only downside was that many people brought their dogs to the beach, which wasn't a problem except for the occasional bag of dog waste left at the entrance, tarnishing an otherwise beautiful spot.

一个令人惊叹的海滩，适合带狗，我们在上面的沙堡停车场停车，停车费用合理。如果愿意你可以通过应用支付 - 我想是Just Park，停车场有栏杆，所以只需将车开到那个栏杆旁边即可（当然是在支付后，哈哈）。从沙丘到海滩的坡度相当陡，但哇，那是一个多么美丽的海滩！！有救生员在场。空间充足，完全不拥挤。不过我不确定他们是如何区分这个海滩和两侧的海滩的，我知道那两边的海滩在高峰期以及一天中的特定时间是不允许带狗的。它是一个如此巨大的海滩，我不知道你如何知道自己是否进入了禁带狗区域？

The parking fee for the entire day is £3.50, which applies to both National Trust members and non-members. Although it may seem a bit expensive, the beach itself is fantastic, with calm waters that are ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding (although not as suitable for bodyboarding and surfing). Additionally, there is a lovely little shop where you can find pasties, ice cream, beach toys, and more. The presence of a playground for children and a public bathroom make this beach a perfect destination for a fun-filled day by the sea. Moreover, it is conveniently located just a short distance away from St. Michael's Mount.
