Focussing on the south coast, in addition to Slapton we'll visit Plymouth, where some 36,000 GI's departed. Plymouth is said to be the most bombed city in WWII (per sq mile) more than London and Coventry and is still the largest naval dockyard in Western Europe. Down the coast the picturesque coastal town of Dartmouth is home to two stunningly preserved castles at the mouth of the River Dart as well as Britannia Naval College, home to US naval command and where Queen Elizabeth first set eyes on the Duke of Edinburgh. Our route takes us to some of the South west's most remote, wild and spectacular places - all linked together on sleepy country lanes with very little traffic. This area is extremely beautiful but can be hilly, and this is where the electric bikes come into their own. Our route will last 2.5-3 hours and will take us on some lovely roads out to the cliffs, with a tea rooms and local pub along the way if you fancy a refreshment. To get access to some of the most interesting places (for example a shipwreck-wood cabin built into the cliff face in the 1800's) we will park the bikes and go on foot for 15 minutes, so please be aware bring shoes you are comfortable walking in too. Please note a good level of fitness is still required to operate the bikes and walk out to the cliffs. The bikes have a max rider weight limit of 120kg.

Once kitted up in lifejackets and having had a safety brief we will depart Torquay Marina and head along the coast stopping at secluded bays, rock islands and stunning coves. Focussing on the south coast, in addition to Slapton we'll visit Plymouth, where some 36,000 GI's departed. Plymouth is said to be the most bombed city in WWII (per sq mile) more than London and Coventry and is still the largest naval dockyard in Western Europe. Our route takes us to some of the South west's most remote, wild and spectacular places - all linked together on sleepy country lanes with very little traffic. This area is extremely beautiful but can be hilly, and this is where the electric bikes come into their own. Our route will last 2.5-3 hours and will take us on some lovely roads out to the cliffs, with a tea rooms and local pub along the way if you fancy a refreshment. To get access to some of the most interesting places (for example a shipwreck-wood cabin built into the cliff face in the 1800's) we will park the bikes and go on foot for 15 minutes, so please be aware bring shoes you are comfortable walking in too. Please note a good level of fitness is still required to operate the bikes and walk out to the cliffs. The bikes have a max rider weight limit of 120kg.

Once kitted up in lifejackets and having had a safety brief we will depart Torquay Marina and head along the coast stopping at secluded bays, rock islands and stunning coves. Be prepared for the moving bits to be done with astonishing acceleration but then settle into some witty commentary from the crew onboard as they showcase the very best bits of Torbay for you to see.
