This is a driving tour of all the historical sites in Montgomery and then we retrace the 1965 Selma To Montgomery Voting Right March and cross The Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. We spend approximately 3 hours of the tour in Montgomery passing by various points of interest which include Dexter Church, Dexter King Parsonage, Gray Hound Bus Terminal, Alabama State University and the State Capitol. From here, we are at the ending point of the Voting Rights March. We will work backwards and retrace the steps to the beginning of the historical 1965 Voting Rights March. While we retrace these steps, we will talk about the iconic individuals and places that made this such an impactful time in our history.
In 1969 the Swampers founded Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and within months they were attracting hit recording artists from around the world who came to them in search of the signature sound that forever changed American music. Through the generosity of Beats Electronics the legendary studio has been authentically restored. From the vintage equipment in the control room upstairs to the orange carpet in the Swampers' party room downstairs, the building looks exactly as it did during those magical years between 1969 and 1978. Peek into the bathroom where Keith Richards put the finishing touches on Wild Horses or sit at the piano that Paul Simon played on Kodachrome.

This is a driving tour of all the historical sites in Montgomery and then we retrace the 1965 Selma To Montgomery Voting Right March and cross The Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. We spend approximately 3 hours of the tour in Montgomery passing by various points of interest which include Dexter Church, Dexter King Parsonage, Gray Hound Bus Terminal, Alabama State University and the State Capitol. From here, we are at the ending point of the Voting Rights March. We will work backwards and retrace the steps to the beginning of the historical 1965 Voting Rights March. While we retrace these steps, we will talk about the iconic individuals and places that made this such an impactful time in our history.
In 1969 the Swampers founded Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and within months they were attracting hit recording artists from around the world who came to them in search of the signature sound that forever changed American music. Through the generosity of Beats Electronics the legendary studio has been authentically restored. From the vintage equipment in the control room upstairs to the orange carpet in the Swampers' party room downstairs, the building looks exactly as it did during those magical years between 1969 and 1978. Peek into the bathroom where Keith Richards put the finishing touches on Wild Horses or sit at the piano that Paul Simon played on Kodachrome.
