We will travel along an easy trail immersed in the almost uncontaminated nature along which you can admire Bajardo from a unique perspective, but also Apricale and Perinaldo lied down on the crests of the ligurian mountains. Once in Bajardo we will visit the village where those who wish can have lunch. Once recharged, we will return to the starting point following the same route, which now offers new views and emotions. What I propose is not just a wonderful tour into the nature, it is a journey into the authentic heart of western Liguria, that heart made up of isolated villages that are a little reluctant to become a tourist destination but loved by the locals. I propose to accompany you not only as a qualified cycling guide, but also to make you experience, with stories and anecdotes linked to personal history, the essence of the local feeling.

This is the domain of one of the finest Italian wines, and one of Italy’s best kept secrets, which is gaining popularity and is in great demand worldwide. Rossese di Dolceacqua or Dolceacqua, a favourite of Napoleon’s. Dolceacqua is the ancient village dominated by the imposing ruin of the Castello dei Doria which towers over the old town on the left bank of the river. Its name means “sweet water”. A single-arched 15th-century bridge spans 33m across the river and leads to the old town. The Impressionist painter Claude Monet immortalized on canvas. “The place is superb, there is a bridge that is a jewel of lightness”, he wrote in his diary. After passing the magnificent sandy beaches of the Tre Ponti, a gentle climb begins towards the famous Poggio della Milano-Sanremo. A short break in the pine forest of the Sanctuary of the Guard for a first suggestive shot of the Gulf of Sanremo and on the road towards Ceriana. A very well-kept village, set in the mountains with 22 churches and a culinary tradition of the highest level. Once in the pedestrian heart of the village, a tasty tasting of typical dishes awaits us. A nice tour of the town, seeing corners and peculiarities, lead us to the "beach" of the town and to the mill area where time seems to have stopped. A few more photos of the most characteristic corners and take the bridge over the stream that leads to the dirt road. The road continues among the smells of the olive trees in a continuous up and down with breaks, where blackberries, figs, strawberry trees and other spontaneous fruits will give flavor to the breaks along the way. Once you leave the route, the road is all downhill to Bussana and the cycle path.
