This was hands down our most favorite place in the world. We traveled for a get away from a busy sports filled life and this was it. The grounds were superb, the staff warm and loving and the view and the food superb. Our kids all cried headed to the airport as they loved their magical stay here. Will work hard to come back soon ❤️
Our family (me, my husband, our 3-year-old son, and my parents-in-law) spent 4 days and 3 nights at Raiwasa in December, and it was truly the best trip we’ve ever experienced. Having stayed at many resorts and traveled to similar destinations, Raiwasa stands out for its exceptional hospitality, breathtaking property, and personalized care.
Accommodations:
The Raiwasa villa offers stunning ocean views, direct beach access via a private stairway, and an incredible infinity pool. While the villa isn’t the most modern or luxurious, it is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Bugs were present (to be expected in such a tropical location), but nothing detracted from our enjoyment.
We did experience an issue with the A/C and outlets in one bedroom on our second night. While it couldn’t be fixed immediately due to the need for an off-island electrician, the staff worked quickly to resolve it the next day, installing a brand-new unit. The manager personally apologized and even comped one of our paid excursions, which we greatly appreciated.
Staff:
The staff at Raiwasa truly made our stay unforgettable. Rachana managed every detail seamlessly, Mela and Meme were wonderful with our son, and Daniel and Pio went above and beyond to make excursions memorable. For example, when I felt seasick during a boat ride, they adjusted the return route to minimize my discomfort, arranging a driver to meet us at a closer dock.
My parents-in-law made various special requests (like fresh coconuts at breakfast and photo opportunities), and the staff always accommodated with smiles. Their help during excursions, especially with our active 3-year-old, allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the experience.
Activities:
The itinerary was perfectly planned and executed:
Day 1: After arriving mid-afternoon, we spent the day relaxing at the villa’s private beach, enjoying a late lunch by the water, swimming in the infinity pool, and finishing the day with a villa dinner. My husband and in-laws also enjoyed massages.
Day 2: We visited Bouma Waterfalls, with a picnic lunch beautifully set up by staff right next to the falls. The clear water and guided swimming under the falls were magical. After returning to the villa, we kayaked and snorkeled at the villa beach before dinner.
Day 3: This was our favorite day! We took a boat to a private beach for a picnic and snorkeling. The beach was large and perfect for our son to run around, with coral and marine life that far surpassed what we’d seen at the villa beach. Once again, lunch was perfectly prepared and served on-site.
Day 4: On our last day, we toured the beautiful gardens at Raiwasa, sampling fresh fruit picked from the property. The heat shortened the tour, but we still enjoyed the experience before packing up and heading to the airport with a prepared lunch for the journey.
Food:
The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and always beautifully presented. We loved the flexibility of ordering meals at any time, whether at the villa, the pool, or on excursions. Every dining experience felt special, and my in-laws couldn’t stop taking photos of the setups.
Overall:
Raiwasa exceeded every expectation with its personalized care, attention to detail, and stunning setting. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable vacation. Thank you to the Raiwasa team for such an amazing experience!
