This beach is absolutely stunning and perfect for leisurely walks. There's even a charming trail that winds through the woods, providing interesting information along the way. Just a heads up, pets are not permitted on the beach. However, there is a wheelchair ramp available for easy access to the water. Additionally, pavilions can be rented if needed. Although there aren't many photos of this place, the pastel colors captured in the few available are truly breathtaking! ♡
The beach is extremely tiny and does not permit any animals. The park ticket costs $20, which seems unfair considering the size of the beach. Additionally, it is a rocky beach and tends to get very crowded, especially on Sundays. Finding parking for a car can also be quite challenging.
I am giving this beach a 3-star rating instead of 5 due to the new $20 charge for entry. It already cost me a significant amount in gas to get there. The lack of mosquito control is quite absurd. I understand that there are woods and water nearby, but considering the $20 entry fee, there should definitely be fewer mosquitoes. The landscaping is overgrown and not as beautiful as it used to be in previous years. Unfortunately, we will be searching for a different spot along Lake Huron that has fewer mosquitoes and does not require a $20 entry fee. I suggest saving your $20 and going somewhere else.
The park is extremely well-kept, with spotless restrooms and an incredible playground featuring protective rubber flooring situated in a shaded area! There are also covered picnic spots and paved walking paths. Additionally, the beach is perfect for discovering rocks and fossils, as well as observing passing freighters.
We brought our kids here to play after it became too chilly to swim in the beach water. Unfortunately, the beach itself didn't have a playground, so we decided to bring them here for the first time! There's a playground tucked away in the woods, which is quite peaceful and allows the kids to play without many distractions. Additionally, there's a story book walking trail with numerous stopping points where you can read a page from the selected book of the week during your walk. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that there are signs outside the trails leading out of the playground cautioning about poison ivy, but there aren't any within the playground area reminding kids to stay away from the weeds because of it. The grill and pavilion area right next to the park was conveniently close, allowing us to prepare food while still keeping an eye on the kids playing. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our visit and would love to come back here again!
