Teignmouth beach

It's not a nice beach at all, overcrowded and quite unpleasant to walk on

Abbey River beach
5 Vasco De Gama

Review by Richard White. This beach is not accessable by vehicle as the road the the coast is a private one (two locked gates). You can gain access via the SW Coastal path which runs alongside or footpath from Hartland Quay or Stoke. The roadway is open for pedestrians who are visiting Hartland Abbey (seasonal only). You cannot access the beach with a bike. Closest parking is 2km walk at Hartland Quay or 1.5km from the Hamlet of Stoke (limited parking). As highlighted in reports there are no facilities at this beach.

Summerleaze beach

This beach is quite impressive, I suppose. The sand is a lovely shade of gold and there's a decent amount of space to frolic around in, but only if you're careful about the tide. It's a dog-friendly zone, which is nice I suppose, but it seems like there are no rules or regulations in place. There's a surplus of parking and a plethora of facilities, but it's nothing too special. If you're into that sort of thing, then I guess it's worth checking out.

Goodrington beach

This beach is an ideal destination for kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts. Since discovering it, we have made it our preferred holiday spot. The area offers breathtaking hikes, stunning vistas, and a variety of dining and drinking options. Weekends can be crowded, but this is to be anticipated. Despite the crowds, the location is unparalleled, and we were not bothered by the bustle. Additionally, there is a water park and convenient parking, making the experience hassle-free.

Green fields beach

This beach is really lovely and it's quite easy to get to. Just make sure to pay attention to any warnings, especially when the tide changes because it can flow quite fast due to being at an estuary. On the day we visited, the weather was cool but sunny, so it wasn't crowded. The beach was clean and had high-quality sand, perfect for the children to play on.

Broadsands beach

This beach is great - it has plenty of parking, and you can pay with either cash or card. There are two cafes with a variety of food and drinks, as well as a watersports hire facility and changing huts. There's also a smaller, secluded cove a bit further up, but it's a pebble beach. There are lots of coastal paths for taking walks, and I'd definitely recommend it.
