We had a city pass for the week, so we decided to take advantage of it and come here. We had to go to the main ranch building a bit further up the road and sign in, and then we were directed to a parking lot with a dock. We took a boat with around 50 people across the lagoon to a large sandbar with trees and picnic tables. It was like we had paid to go to a beach that was set up for us to enjoy, with volleyball nets, kayaks, paddle boards, and a big double canoe that they would help you paddle out to a small sandbar in the ocean. We visited during the winter, and it rained most of the time. Despite the rain, the views were still beautiful and the sand was soft. Make sure to bring whatever you think you'll need for 5 hours, and you can take whatever you want on the boat, such as coolers. Many people brought beer with them, and there was food for sale on the sandbar, though it didn't look cheap. Just be prepared for wet weather.

What a lovely spot to catch some waves! The ocean here has a bit of a rocky edge, so when the swells are high, it's definitely not for the faint of heart. But hey, who wants to play it safe all the time? Get out there and test your skills on the waves, just be sure to bring your A-game!

This is by far my favorite spot for taking pictures and having a picnic at the beach! The beach itself is long and narrow, with calm, crystal blue water that's perfect for swimming, but not so great for snorkeling since there isn't much to see. The view of the beach is absolutely stunning, with the impressive Ko'olau mountain serving as a picturesque backdrop that looks like something straight out of a screensaver. However, parking can be a bit of a challenge since there are very limited spots available in the roadside parking lot, and parallel parking is the only option. Thankfully, there are showers and bathrooms available for public use. 🌺🤙🏼

This is one of my preferred beaches on the island. If you happen to meet a Marine, try asking them to help you gain access to the base.

There is never a shortage of parking at this beach, which is a fantastic perk. While it may not be the ideal spot for swimming, it is an exceptional location to relax and appreciate the stunning views of the ocean while lounging under a tree. The serene atmosphere and natural beauty of this beach are truly remarkable.

This beach is perfect for snorkeling! As a first-timer, I had an incredible experience seeing a variety of tropical fish and even getting close to a sea turtle. The only requirement to access the beach is being in the military or knowing someone who is. Getting there is a breeze and the water is calm, but it's best to bring water shoes to avoid getting cut by the coral. I'm already looking forward to returning soon!
