The beach and camping ground are absolutely delightful! The stunning views of the beach are truly breathtaking. The campsite is also very well-maintained and a great place to stay.

Stumbled upon a few agate stones and even spotted a newt! This beach is a treasure trove of adventure. However, it may not be the ideal spot for toddlers due to the uneven and rocky terrain. Nevertheless, it is an absolutely stunning destination worth visiting.

Otter Crest Beach

This charming beach stole our hearts! We were fortunate enough to have the perfect weather, basking in the warmth of the sun's rays. Despite the chilly May air, the engagement session was breathtakingly lovely. The cove was calm and peaceful, with hardly any wind to disturb the serene atmosphere. This beach was an unexpected and disappointing stop on our coastal drive. I do not recommend wasting any time here, not even for a quick photo stop. We spent several hours hiking and regretted every minute of it. The lighthouse was unremarkable and the weather was dreary, making our visit even more unpleasant. The trail to the beach was a disaster, wet and muddy, and I cannot imagine it being any better in dry weather. Save yourself the trouble and skip this beach altogether.

This beach boasts stunning views, and if you take a short stroll north during low tide, you can catch a glimpse of the wreckage of the schooner Bella - a fascinating piece of history to explore.

This was hands down the best camping experience I've ever had. When I was a child, my entire family used to camp at State Parks in Carlsbad, California. This State Park brings back so many memories from my childhood and it's even cleaner than I remember. The Rangers here are incredibly friendly and helpful. From certain campsites, you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful ocean. They offer spacious 40' campsites with full hookups and 30amp, as well as extra parking for additional vehicles. They also have handicap campsites conveniently located near the bathrooms and showers. Speaking of which, the bathrooms are exceptionally clean and there's always plenty of hot water for showers. I visited in August 2023 and I'm already planning to return in September. It's worth mentioning that this Park is actually a satellite park of a larger one in Newport. Keep in mind that this Park closes for the winter at the end of October. When I go back, I'll definitely check the altimeter to determine the elevation, but I'm guessing it's around 10 feet above sea level. Dogs are allowed as long as they're on a leash. I absolutely adore this place and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
