Costa Sur Resort in Puerto Vallarta was a wonderful place to stay for our first family trip to Mexico. The room was air conditioned, and had a wonderful view! However, it was still quite warm even with the AC for someone from a cooler area. The staff were fantastic, with particular gratitude for Alejandro, the restaurant "captain", who brought us some chicken to add to our meal made in the built-in kitchenette, and Anna Marie who was able to give us a late checkout free of charge as we had a later flight back. Our maid Reyna was wonderful and took good care of our room, even washing our dishes one morning when we were in a rush to leave for our tour and hadn't had time. All the staff were quick and responsive to any issues we had, and everyone was always very friendly and welcoming, with the bellboys opening our taxi doors for us as we went to and from the resort. As previously mentioned, the view was fantastic from the balcony, with a direct sight like looking out onto the ocean. The West facing room we had allowed us to get the sunset every night which enhanced the evening experience. The food was good, the accomodations cozy, and the staff incredibly helpful and joyful. Overall, Costa Sur is somewhere we'd come back to and would absolutely recommend to anyone going over to Puerto Vallarta for however many nights. Thank you Costa Sur!
We stayed at Costa Sur for 2 weeks. We loved the location - it is in “The Hills” area at the southern end of Puerto Vallarta, in the resort district. It is right on the beach, with its own little reef. We snorkeled a few times, and saw a wide variety of fish. We were on the second floor of the North Tower, and had such an incredible view of the ocean. The sunsets were stunning, and almost every morning we saw whales swimming by. The on-site restaurant served excellent food, and the barefoot bar was convenient to use during the day. Our room was open concept, and had all the amenities we needed - fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, lots of drawer/closet space, king-sized bed, smart TV, and a large balcony. Martha was our housekeeper, and she was lovely - very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I had 2 massages, and both were soothing and relaxing. Jocabeth was the Vallarta Adventures on-site representative, and she set us up with 3 amazing excursions. The little store was very handy, and carried a wide variety of supplies. We enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely go back to that location.
