The sand going down to Inskip to board the barge is soft so make sure your tires are deflated to maximum 20psi. The barge comes regularly- there are two of them that alternate from side to side. The queue to board is typically not long. If you get into trouble on the soft sand you can flag down help as people are pretty good to provide assistance. You also don't need to buy tickets in advance - buy them on board the barge.
Beautiful place for camping and a day trips. We spend Christmas here every year and it is always a great time. Plenty of parking available and plenty of great fishing spots.
You do not need tickets to enter so not sure why that option is there. But when you are driving around Rainbow beach you should definitely see all the points. It was just us and another family who was there when we went. It is very easily accessible but as we wanted to spend more time on Rainbow beach we didn't stay there long. The views are beautiful and if you want a quiet place to play in the sand and sea I would recommend it!
Very popular place, Gets very busy especially when they have closed a couple of camp grounds. Great sunrise and sunsets and a beautiful view of Frazer Island
Despite the YouTube channel highlighting the notorious soft sand, we cruised through being spring and the sand not hot to sink us. Nice edges to park and swim on the way to the barge to k'gari and it is pleasant tosit and watch the action of traffic cruising through.
