Si trova a meno di 30 minuti dal punto in cui esci dalla SH23 (Te Mata Road, poi su Ruapuke Road). La parte finale della strada è sterrata e talvolta stretta. Dal parcheggio è sufficiente una breve passeggiata tra le dune per raggiungere la spiaggia (ricordarsi di rimanere sul sentiero battuto per evitare danni alle piante, ecc.). Nelle giornate calde è consigliabile portare dei sandali perché la sabbia nera può diventare estremamente calda e bruciare la pianta dei piedi.

It's conveniently located less than 30 minutes from the turnoff at SH23 (via Te Mata Road, then onto Ruapuke Road). The final stretch of the road is gravel and can be narrow in spots. From the parking area, it's a brief walk through the dunes to reach the beach (make sure to stick to the well-trodden path to avoid harming the plants). On hot days, bring jandals as the black sand can get extremely hot and burn your feet.

Fantastica spiaggia con una vista mozzafiato. Era meno affollata e me ne sono assolutamente innamorato.
