If summit weather or visibility is too poor, an alternative viewpoint in the Palheiro area or another suitable location may be used. Clear views cannot be guaranteed. Near the Pico Ruivo shelter is the track PR 1.2, which leads to the Achada do Teixeira. Already at Achada do Teixeira you can see the basaltic rock formation known as “Man in Foot”, located in the descent after passing through the shelter of Achada do Teixeira.
