During the summer when the weather is hot, the beach and its surroundings can get quite crowded. Hanover is nearby. However, it must be really nice there when it's not as busy as on the hottest summer days. The beach has its own charm and it's clear that many people are attracted to it. There is plenty of space, very fine sand (which comes in handy for cleaning clothes), and you can walk barefoot on the beach. The water is shallow, especially at this beach, which is perfect for families with young children. It's worth traveling a bit further to visit. The best part is that the beach is free for everyone! Unlike some bathing lakes in North Rhine-Westphalia, where you have to pay for entry. There are showers and toilets nearby, with showers right on the beach and toilets at the bistro/restaurant next door. It's generally clean, but a few more trash cans wouldn't hurt. This beach is a great spot for a day trip, especially for families with young or older children.
