Zev Rait
From the Acropolis, we took the Beach Line of the Hop-on Hop-off bus to this beach. It departs from the Acropolis; be sure to check the departure times carefully. You can also take public transport, but that would have taken us well over 1.5 hours.
It is a lovely sandy beach with sunbeds. We were here in late September and had a wonderful time lying on the beds. In the end, no one came by to collect payment, so we didn't pay anything for the beds. It was a bit cloudy at first that day and nice and quiet. The sea was calm, and you could walk quite a way into the water before it got deep.
Behind the beach is a restaurant, and on the side is a small bar where you can get drinks to take to your sunbed. To the right of the bar are the toilets. These were very clean, and there was even regular toilet paper available.
We got a delicious cold beer at the bar. A half-liter bottle for €4.50. It was nice that it wasn't served in plastic, although we did find it unusual that you were allowed to simply take the glassware with you to the beach. 😁
In the course of the afternoon, the sun broke through, and eventually we also enjoyed the sunset here.
Afterwards, we walked back to Lasithi Bar Restaurant. From there, we ordered a taxi to our hotel, Circle Inn, via the Greek taxi app FREENOW. The taxi cost about €36. Taking public transport back is of course also an option and is much cheaper, but that would have taken us over 1.5 hours.
In short: a nice and quiet sandy beach where we had a wonderful day. Definitely worth it if you want to spend a day at the beach during your stay in Athens!
