Playa Pilar II

Wonderfull experience as always, is my 4th time here at the Imperial and I think the same. The workers are polite the rooms have good furniture the pool with the ocean views are the best. The guy of the pictures Wilson is a really nice guy. Everything about this hotel is just great.

Third day in and I was requesting an earlier return flight… Let me preface this review by saying, I’ve stayed at dozens of hotels across all of Cuba. I’ve had my share of ups and downs and experienced resorts during high and low season. That said, for this resort to take the #1 spot of worst resorts/experiences says a lot. Please take this review as a cautionary tale, rather than someone being nip picky. Pros: - The service was great. That’s clear in other reviews as well. Keep in mind, when there are only 20 people occupying an entire resort it’s hard not to be attentive. - The grounds were nice and the hotel is comfortably walkable. - Once a week, all nearby hotels gather at Plaza Hemingway for food, drinks, and fun. That was a nice experience. - The resort has 3 pools and plenty of space for people to have their privacy or to mingle. - The resort seems to attract a quieter clientele. If you’re looking for relaxation, you’ll surely get it here. Cons: - The beach is quite rocky and has strong waves. I would not recommend it to older people. Yes, Playa Pilar is a short ride away but it costs $10 CAD for a taxi/bus + $5 CAD per person for a lounge chair on the beach. It’s impractical to do that every day. - The food quality and quantity is quite bad. Food is either severely undercooked or overcooked. Do note, this isn’t because there is a lack of ingredients. They pulled out Nutella on some days for crying out loud. It’s simply because chefs are incompetent and have poor execution. So the TL:DR version is: if you’re diet consists of mainly bread and pasta, you’ll be fine. Otherwise, consider another resort. - The buffet was full of flies. It made it extremely unpleasant to eat. - The rooms need some TLC. Bathrooms are covered in questionable stains and cracks. I showered in flip flops the entire trip. - That complimentary beer/water which is replenished daily is not a thing. You will receive beer only the first day, despite it saying otherwise literally everywhere. - Birds used the pools as personable bath houses. You’d be in the pool and 3 meters away are 10 birds bathing themselves. It was a bit gross. - Minimal/low budget entertainment. I’ll say, they tried, and things may have been different with more people willing to participate, but there is no aqua fitness, volleyball, etc. It’s a pretty dead resort. Anyway, you get the point. I hope people experience a more positive Gran Muthu, but I can confidently say, that as of June 2025, this resort needs recalibrating.

Wanted to leave after the second day. Rooms have crack an all over the walls and bathroom tiles. The toilet seat lid was stained of urine?? The waitresses are the only exceptional service in this place. Asking for prices for their cigars and alcohol the woman wouldn’t tell me prices just kept saying “they’re all different” I couldn’t take her ignorance anymore and left. Felt like I was bothering her while she’s playing with her phone. There’s a real attitude problem with some of the staff and to ask for tips is diabolical. they don’t deserve a tip. The flies in the buffet is unbearable how can it be that bad. Everyone rushes to eat and leave. Food was terrible and watching the chef walk around seeing his hot table of nobody taking food. Everyday same garbage food I’d feed a dog. Never coming to Cuba again

第二天就想离开。房间的墙壁和浴室瓷砖都有裂缝。马桶座盖上有尿渍？？女服务员是这里唯一的优秀服务。询问她们的雪茄和酒的价格时，那个女人只说“价格各不相同”，我再也忍受不了她的无知，离开了。感觉我在打扰她，她却在玩手机。某些员工确实存在态度问题，索要小费简直是可怕。他们不值得给小费。自助餐里的苍蝇让人无法忍受，怎么会糟糕到这种地步。每个人都急着吃完离开。食物糟糕，看着厨师走来走去，看到他的热食桌上没有人取食。每天都是我喂狗的垃圾食物。再也不想来古巴了。

I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Muthu Imperial Hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. There were fun activities every night, which really added to the experience. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and the service throughout the hotel was impressively fast and efficient. The beach nearby is absolutely stunning – clean, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding. I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great vacation spot

我在大穆图帝国酒店度过了一个美妙的假期。工作人员非常热情，让我感到像在家一样。每晚都有有趣的活动，这真的增添了体验。早餐美味，种类丰富，酒店的服务速度快且高效。附近的海滩绝对令人惊叹——干净、放松，非常适合休闲。我一定会再来，并强烈推荐这家酒店给任何寻找绝佳度假地点的人。

Just came back! What a nice resort, very attractive with many pools and a great beach. Food was awesome...tons of great, healthy choices. Resorts have power and AC. If you like a Méditerranéen diet, this is the place. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

刚回来！多么不错的度假村，吸引人，有很多泳池和美丽的海滩。食物很棒……有很多健康的选择。度假村有电和空调。如果你喜欢地中海饮食，这里就是地方。新鲜的蔬菜和水果很多。工作人员非常乐于助人且友好。
