A Hidden Gem in Cuba – Absolutely Exceeded Expectations!
Hotel Playa Luxury Cayo Guillermo is truly a hidden gem. I stayed here for 5 days this summer and genuinely wish I had booked longer—it exceeded all my expectations. The resort is set on the most beautiful stretch of white sand beach with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Compared to my previous trip to a resort in the Dominican Republic, this one was far more peaceful and luxurious. The beach and water were so much better, and the atmosphere was exactly what I was hoping for: tranquil, romantic, and upscale.
Our room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Whenever we had a small issue, maintenance responded quickly and efficiently. The entire resort has a calm and private feel, with fewer crowds, which made it perfect for a romantic vacation or a relaxing adults-only escape.
The staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful—even giving us small souvenirs, which was such a sweet touch. Special shoutout to Ronald at the Nautical Centre, who was exceptional! He spoke great English, and thanks to him we went sailing on a catamaran and snorkeling—we saw vibrant coral reefs and so many beautiful fish. We also went kayaking multiple times, and the overall experience on the water was unforgettable.
The all-inclusive drinks were amazing, and we loved relaxing by the pools, enjoying the spa and massage services, and seeing the stars at night—it was magical. This resort truly offers both adventure and serenity.
If you're looking for a quiet, luxurious getaway with top-notch service, gorgeous surroundings, and exceptional activities, I highly recommend Hotel Playa Luxury Cayo Guillermo. I would absolutely come back again!

Service was uniformly very good.
Rooms were very nice, we got the pool view room but we still had a view of the ocean in the distance.
Beach was beautiful.
Breakfast was good, otherwise the pork skewers at the pool/beach bars, lamb and coconut cake at the Cuban restaurant and pizza at the snack bar were really good, everything else was ok (but always beautifully presented).
Drinks were solid, good basic cocktails and lattes, noticeably best at the lobby bar.
Included water activities were kayaking, sailing and pedal boat, we paid an extra 25 CAD each to sail out to a reef and go snorkeling which was worth it, lots of fish. They do have a policy where the nautical centre is closed if the wind is too high so for the first couple days we couldn't do anything even though we saw other similar boats out on the water.
There were not many guests when we went so the vibe was very quiet, there were apparently evening activities (?) but we didn't go to them. Normally anytime during the day we could find a private pool for the two of us, you could find a private outdoor bed too if you're into that sort of thing. Great for a romantic retreat with the girl but not for partying.

包含的水上活动有独木舟、帆船和脚踏船，我们额外支付了每人25加元去驶向一个礁石进行浮潜，真的很值得，很多鱼。因为水上中心的政策是在风力过大时会关闭，所以在最初的几天里我们无法进行任何活动，尽管我们看到其他类似的船只在水上。
我们去的时候客人不多，所以氛围非常安静，似乎有晚间活动（？）但我们没有去。通常在白天的任何时候我们都能找到一个属于我们的私人泳池，如果你喜欢的话，也可以找到私人户外床。对与女友的浪漫之旅很棒，但不适合派对。

Exceeded All Expectations! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
We came to Cuba knowing the situation (food,alcohol etc) but this hotel is far beyond what you think. First off the food is exceptional! Tasty and abundant! Drinks are top shelf, we even brought our own alcohol to ensure we drank well but haven’t touched. Service in all areas has been outstanding, can’t truly put it into words but we’ve been to Cuba 3 times a year for last 15 years and this is the first hotel to say 5 STARS all around (food, room, service, beach) we highly recommend. We even have switched our August trip to Aruba to return here at this hotel! Thank you to Adriana, Yasniel and actually all the staff for the passion and excellence in client service.

What a beautiful resort, very luxurious, grounds and rooms exceptionally clean, spacious and beds are very comfortable. Service is excellent, accommodating
Spa, free 20 min massage included, Janet who is also a nurse is fantastic and knowledgeable. One of our waitress Yenixa was unbelievable fantastic, always went above and beyond. The restaurant at the beach food was awesome lobster everyday
The staff are friendly and fun. Drinks were plentiful and service at your chair side. Beach OMG amazing crystal clear waters, sand is very clean no rocks, or seaweed. You can Catamaran, kayak and use paddle boat every day. Lobby bar is beautiful and nice selection of drinks and lattes, my favourite.
Entertainment and daily activities could be more organized and better communicated. Building #1 is the furtherest so a bit of a walk. Food was excellent not the typical Cuban food, nice variety and plentiful. The gym is tiny by new equipment. Very little night entertainment, very quiet resort. Room service is available if you know how to call, no phones in the room, only bathroom which does not work.
One butler on duty, limited english and the only communication is on What’s App.
Wifi is not bad takes a few tries to connect but really not bad. Some apps are not available so be cautious if you have to bring business work.
I have been to Cuba 10 times and I can honestly say this is by far 10/10 and will be absolutely returning with my family. Cuba did not disappoint this vacation.

只有一位管家在值班，英语有限，唯一的沟通方式是WhatsApp。
WiFi还不错，连接有时候需要几次，但真的不错。有些应用程序不可用，所以如果你需要带工作，一定要小心。
我去过古巴10次，老实说这是迄今为止的10/10，绝对会和家人一起回来。古巴没有让这次假期失望。

We enjoyed our stay at this resort very much, mostly because of the staff and beautiful turquoise waters, but there are some things that you need to know before booking: the resort used to be a Kempinski and it now in the process of transition to a new owner. The cigar bar is closed, as are most restaurants except one restaurant where you can get lunch and another one for dinner. In total, there were around 30 guests at the resort when we were there, and the resort is massive.
There is no buffet, and the disco is dead – if that is what you are looking for, go elsewhere. I will say that the a la carte options were much better than the buffets at other resorts. Same thing applies to excursions etc. – nothing nearby – go to this resort for the kind staff, beautiful beach, and peace and quiet, which we enjoyed for our 3 nights, although it might get a little boring if you are there for longer than that.
We actually enjoyed the seclusion and privacy quite a lot as we were often the only ones around, both at the beach as well as mini beaches around in the little cove facing the over water bungalows.
The pool was a little cold, but I assume it will be warmer in the summer.
We did have a butler, but so does everyone else. Our butler seemed to have interactions with some of the guests, but we did not interact with him at all, nor were we ever asked or approached about whether we needed something, but others seemed to be happy with him.
There was a gentleman, who I believe worked at the main entrance. Sadly, I have forgotten his name, but he wore a dark grey uniform. He was amazing and he immediately went above and beyond to address one of our concerns. He also arranged a ride for us to the plaza to purchase cigars as the cigar bar was not open. He deserves a raise!
The bartenders at the pool bar and lobby bar are also great.
Daniel, our driver was also amazing. The resort picks you up at the airport in a private car, which is 100 times better than taking the bus…
