The Safari is accompanied by a professional guide, with a vast knowledge of the fauna and flora of the Maputo National Park including the great knowledge of birds. The trip starts from Maputo after the guide picks you up from your point of choice you will drive for 1 - 1.30 minutes to get to Maputo National Park. You will spend 5/6 hours driving in the park looking and observing the wildlife this park offers. Among the wildlife you will see are Elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, warthogs, crocodiles, monkeys, and lots of birdlife. Mediocre hotel in Mozambique After a long search and research, we came across this hotel in the mid-price segment and booked for 6 nights with breakfast. We were influenced by the many positive reviews on all the portals, but could not understand them, as we felt they did not match the hotel, service and food. The hotel is beautifully situated on a slope with a view of the sea and lots of plants. There is direct access to the beach, as well as a large infinity pool facing the sea. The bungalow we slept in is rather basic. It is large enough and clean. The room service is good and changes the towels every day. There is a turn down service that takes care of the mosquito net and closes the curtains. What we didn't like, however, was the construction site noise, which sometimes started at 7am and woke us up. The breakfast is unfortunately not worth the room rate, as the selection is too small and the quality is not good. There is both a buffet and the option of ordering hot dishes. The buffet serves the same breakfast every day and the food on offer is not fresh. The orange juice and apple juice are not fresh and contain too much sugar. The filter coffee is also no revelation and coffee from the normal coffee machine costs extra - around €2.50 for a double espresso. A big problem and an absolute no-go for us are the sparrows that walk across the breakfast buffet and can help themselves undisturbed. Every morning we observed them walking over the baked goods and eating them. The baked goods were not cleared away, but left standing, even though the waiters saw this. This is absolutely unhygienic and could be remedied with the simplest of means. The hot dishes from the menu are ok, but it takes quite a long time to get them served. The food in the evening was a la carte as we decided against half board. In our opinion, this is also not to be recommended as there is only a small selection of dishes available. The dishes on the menu are varied, but overpriced for the quality. Many of the dishes are too small and you don't get full. Although the fish dishes are also too expensive, they offer the best value for money. Here, however, it happened that when the same order was placed repeatedly on different evenings, a different dish was served three times. You have to be prepared for very long waiting times, especially at dinner. The waiters often seem unhappy, listless and overwhelmed.
