This beach is well worth the drive if you’re staying near Napier and want some sand instead of pebbles. The river flowing to the ocean is a great alternative if you want avoid the crashing waves with the littles. Waves were great for boogie boarding, body surfing…ask the things! Sad I didn’t plan to be there for the whole day.

Beautiful Beach! Big waves, not for the faint hearted. Cute inlet/lagoon area which is a bit calmer. Would love to come back to explore more, walk around at low tide. Plenty of lifeguards ready to go for a hot summer weekend.
