In my humble opinion, the beach in Las Terrenas is an absolute gem. The picturesque scenery is beyond compare and it's no wonder why it's considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. My experience there was nothing short of magical, as I found myself in awe of the natural beauty that surrounded me. Despite visiting at various times, I was fortunate enough to have the beach almost entirely to myself, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the tranquility of the moment. Without a doubt, this is a place that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a breathtakingly beautiful escape.

It's a mystery to me why so many people claim that the only way to reach this beach is by boat. There's actually a land route that can be taken in a variety of ways. To make things easier, I suggest downloading the alltrials app, which has detailed descriptions of the different routes. It's important to wear comfortable shoes (no flip-flops, please!) as the road can be quite steep at times. On rainy days, I'd recommend avoiding the beach altogether as the descent can be treacherous.
Once you arrive, there are plenty of things to do. You can take a boat to Las Galeras (although it can be a bit pricey at 2000-2500 for two people), or you can enjoy drinks and food at the beachside bar. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also head south to Boca del Dragón or Playa Madama.
Don't forget to bring your snorkeling gear! The underwater world here is

This beach is a real pain to get to. It's tucked away in a remote location that requires either a grueling hike or a tedious boat ride. The hike itself is a treacherous 45-minute journey that takes you through a narrow crevasse, making it unsuitable for anyone but the most experienced hikers. Even if you do manage to make it there, the beach itself is nothing to write home about. It's small and secluded, with little to offer in terms of amenities or entertainment. And while there is a cave to explore, it's hardly worth the effort. Overall, this beach is a hassle to reach and offers little reward for your troubles.

Oh, Playa Madama, you little gem! Don't be fooled by its size, because this beach is packed with treasures. Stroll through the forest paths, flanked by towering cliffs, and discover hidden caves and bright corals lurking under the turquoise Atlantic Ocean. If you're feeling adventurous, grab your fins and go snorkeling to spot black sea urchins and vibrant corals. And let's not forget about the crescent-shaped white sand beach, which is so remote it practically screams "off the beaten path." You can either hike your way to Playa Madama or take a boat excursion, but either way, make sure to ask about the cave used in filming the "Survivor" series. It's located on the far east side of the beach, where you'll find a peaceful swimming cove to cool off in. Trust us, Playa Madama is a hidden treasure worth discovering.

The hike itself is a treacherous 45-minute journey that takes you through a narrow crevasse, making it unsuitable for anyone but the most experienced hikers. Even if you do manage to make it there, the beach itself is nothing to write home about. It's small and secluded, with little to offer in terms of amenities or entertainment. And while there is a cave to explore, it's hardly worth the effort. Overall, this beach is a hassle to reach and offers little reward for your troubles.

Oh, Playa Madama, you little gem! Don't be fooled by its size, because this beach is packed with treasures. Stroll through the forest paths, flanked by towering cliffs, and discover hidden caves and bright corals lurking under the turquoise Atlantic Ocean. If you're feeling adventurous, grab your fins and go snorkeling to spot black sea urchins and vibrant corals. And let's not forget about the crescent-shaped white sand beach, which is so remote it practically screams "off the beaten path." You can either hike your way to Playa Madama or take a boat excursion, but either way, make sure to ask about the cave used in filming the "Survivor" series. It's located on the far east side of the beach, where you'll find a peaceful swimming cove to cool off in. Trust us, Playa Madama is a hidden treasure worth discovering.

It's a mystery to me why so many people claim that the only way to reach this beach is by boat. There's actually a land route that can be taken in a variety of ways. To make things easier, I suggest downloading the alltrials app, which has detailed descriptions of the different routes. It's important to wear comfortable shoes (no flip-flops, please!) as the road can be quite steep at times. On rainy days, I'd recommend avoiding the beach altogether as the descent can be treacherous.
Once you arrive, there are plenty of things to do. You can take a boat to Las Galeras (although it can be a bit pricey at 2000-2500 for two people), or you can enjoy drinks and food at the beachside bar. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also head south to Boca del Dragón or Playa Madama.
Don't forget to bring your snorkeling gear! The underwater world here is

I ended up on a motorbike with a random guy who turned out to be a salesperson. He brought me to the spot where all the boats leave for Cayo Levantado. I was hoping to find some people to join me so we could get a good deal on the trip. However, he wanted to charge me 5000 DOM for a private boat that included food and drinks. I didn't think it was worth it since it was already 2 PM.
