I visited Zugspitze years ago and was amazed by the stunning turquoise water from the observation deck on top of Germany. Today, we rented e-bikes and rode from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the beach, following the classic Rundweg. The sunlit water is beautiful from every angle. You can rent a boat, hike, bike, swim, or just relax on the beach. It's a great place to visit alongside Zugspitze. Just be aware that there may be traffic on weekends and public holidays.

The Eibsee is a glacial lake in southern Germany with clear turquoise water, small bays, and islets, all set against the backdrop of the Zugspitze mountain. A sandy trail less than 7 kilometers long surrounds the lake, considered one of the most beautiful walks in Bavaria. The path is wide and comfortable for cyclists, as well as suitable for strollers, starting right at the parking lot by the lake. The northern side of the lake offers the most stunning views of the islets and the Zugspitze mountain.
Completing the entire circuit around the lake with leisurely stops takes about three hours, but I recommend allowing more time to swim, take photos, and explore the shores off the main trail. Venturing off the main path leads to small beaches and secluded spots with unique views of the islets. To avoid the crowds, it's best to visit early in the morning or late in the evening. Despite its popularity and easy car access, there are hidden gems to be discovered at the Eibsee.

This beach is a perfect spot for hanging out with friends and family. Surrounded by mountains, there are plenty of activities to enjoy such as paragliding and renting a boat for some water fun. There are also many fantastic dining options nearby. Plus, the SBahn is just a short walk away.

Although people may say don't pay to swim in a lake that's free, I feel it's worth the few euros entrance fee. There are really nice and clean facilities and it's a great place to let your kids run wild, without fear of them getting lost. Food is really good and the beer is reasonably priced. What more do you need?!

Overall, this is a lovely lake for swimming. There are water sports facilities available, and it’s a pleasant walk around the lake, taking roughly an hour and a half. The promenade is very clean and well-maintained, though there are some minor costs involved. During the summer, a small musical festival is held each week in the evening.

I visited Zugspitze years ago and was amazed by the stunning turquoise water from the observation deck on top of Germany.
