This beach near La Joya is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It takes around 30-40 minutes to get there from Hotel El Tio Kiko, but the journey is worth it. Be aware that the path is not very well marked and you may find yourself going in the wrong direction if you don't keep an eye out for the small red arrows. As for the beach itself, nudity is allowed but not mandatory, so if that offends you, you may want to look elsewhere. There are no services provided, so make sure to bring all you need and take out your trash. All in all, a great spot to relax and unwind.

We took a quick drive from San José to the beach, which is only a mile away from the town. It was a beautiful beach with hills on either side. We ventured further west and climbed a small hill which offered stunning views of the beach and the mountains to the north. The scenery was incredibly lush and green, with an abundance of wild flowers of all varieties. We carried on walking and passed some other vibrant beaches, where we stopped to have our lunch. The rock formations here were remarkable. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning to the area, and we would highly recommend it.

We anchored here for one night - a couple hundred yards off the beach - and it was simply stunning. It was the first sandy beach we had seen along the coast, and it was well-marked for swimmers' safety, with markers to keep dinghies, jetskis, and kayaks away. There are outdoor showers to rinse off the sand, and a well-defined channel marked with green and red markers to help boaters come ashore. It's a great spot for babies and children, as it's tucked away in a horseshoe-shaped bay. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and even a small market within a few hundred yards of the beach, making it easy to access.
