The Cantabrian Sea was a bit choppy today as we made our way from Ribadeo to Burela. Despite the town having been rebuilt and all the buildings being relatively new, the coastline remains unchanged. Portelo beach is a stunning spot, kept neat and tidy with a beautiful pedestrian promenade and an incredible viewpoint in front of the lighthouse. It's also worth noting that Burela tuna is still fished in the traditional way and you must sample it - tuna in rolls, croquettes and with fresh tomato sauce and cachelos are all mouthwatering options.

In my opinion, as a beach it is worth nothing, but it is worth taking a walk to observe the entire surroundings, mainly the mouth of the Ouro River and the restored bridge that crosses it. For me this is the most interesting thing about this beach. Also nearby is La Casa de las Conservas.
For me this beach is not recommended at all.
