I wouldn't necessarily say this was the most visually striking island as some suggested, but really nice to swim and snorkel and even go on a hike up to the hill. There were lifeguards looking over also. It was clean and even during the Monsoon season, the temperature was even more pleasant just to lie down on the sand. Plenty of lush shades + restaurants and rest rooms.

Fantastic stay at Koyao Bay Pavilions.
Location is excellent with beautiful quiet beach a very short walk away from our villa. The villa was very comfortable, smart and spotless. Ryan looked after us and any need and made the stay a magical experience.
An absolutely delightful experience. The entire team is lovely, always ready to help before and during our stay. The location, the tranquility, and the beauty of the houses are wonderful. The food is varied and delicious. We have nothing to add except thank you and well done!

Cycling there is fun, especially with a mountain bike. The trail is a mix of dirt and sand, with uphill and downhill sections, but it's scenic and deserted. It's best to go in the morning; the afternoon would probably be better as it's on the eastern side of the island. During the rainy season, a freshwater stream flows into the sea, but the path might become more difficult.
Don't go here. The journey is far too strenuous only to end up on a littered beach. The beaches on this island are (still) all deserted, beautiful, and much easier to reach, so why come here? Save yourself the time and go to a different beach.

Our stay on Khai Nai Island was very disappointing overall – in our opinion, a real rip-off.
This was our first stop on a GetYourGuide tour. According to our guide, it was supposed to be a place to relax, which was hardly possible in reality. Immediately after getting off the boat, we were practically mobbed by vendors selling drinks and jet skis – it felt more like a bazaar than a place to unwind.
The island is very small and quickly becomes overcrowded. There's practically no shade unless you rent one of the numerous sun umbrellas or loungers on the beach. Spreading out your own towels isn't an option, as everything is occupied by loungers that cost 150 baht for two. An hour without shade and without enough water in the blazing sun is almost unbearable.
Generally, you get the feeling that there's nothing you can do on the island without spending extra money.
What was particularly upsetting was that we were openly offered cannabis on the beach.
In addition, there are many sick cats roaming the island, which is both unpleasant and sad.

Cycling there is fun, especially with a mountain bike. The trail is a mix of dirt and sand, with uphill and downhill sections, but it's scenic and deserted. It's best to go in the morning; the afternoon would probably be better as it's on the eastern side of the island. During the rainy season, a freshwater stream flows into the sea, but the path might become more difficult.
Don't go here. The journey is far too strenuous only to end up on a littered beach. The beaches on this island are (still) all deserted, beautiful, and much easier to reach, so why come here? Save yourself the time and go to a different beach.
