Slightly in-land, a few minutes' walk, you can find a local pub and another shop, and The New Castle restaurant. There's a range of holiday parks, but they're generally all for residents only. The beach itself is beautiful and oft-forgotten, though. At the height of summer it can be used as a normal beach, but it is primarily used for dog walking and horse riding. It's windy in the colder months, but beautiful all-year round. The northern end of the beach is overgrown with grass. The entire beach is two-tiered as a tidal defense. The tide is huge; you'll only see the sea up-close for an hour or so a day. But if you check the tide times, you can catch it. It is not particularly safe to go out onto the mud flats to 'chase' the water.
