Penang is the melting pot of cultures (and therefore cuisines) with a very diverse cultural background blended and assimilated into a unique traditions and foods. It is very rare that one can find a harmonious mix of different cuisines of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous communities. As this city also has a big populations of foreigners and expatriates, there are also a huge varieties of different cuisines of different countries. I always encourage tourists and visitors to try all the food from the different communities - this is why you venture out to try new things. But at the same time if any of my guests missed their usual favorite home country food, I can recommend good eating places for food of their country of origin. Malaysia Truly Asia. Penang has it all. The international media and hospitality guide. Time Out has crowned Penang as the No. 1 Best Street Food City in Asia. Some highlights must-try classics are Char Kuey Teow, Assam Laksa, Roti Canai and Hokkien Mee.

Easy trekking via Taman Negara Pulau Pinang. For Malaysian, you need to pay the entrance fee for only Rm5. Then just trekking all the way up and down before you reach Pantai Kerachut. There are very clear directory. And also got few info regarding the three, the place. Some of them also got the historical information. The flora here also nice. After reach the pantai Kerachut, dont forget to go to the turtle sanctuary near by. For going back, u can use by boat or just trekking back sample way you go in before. Highly recommended.

A nice beach but not a lot there. We trekked through the jungle then got a boat back with a stop off at monkey beach. There was one turtle at the sanctuary at the end of the beach, the man there said it wasn't quite turtle nesting season yet but there had been some females coming on the beach to lay. Sand was hot hot hot though to be warned! Trek here took us about 1.5/2 hours but we walked it slowly to take everything in.

The jungle trek to turtle beach was one of my highlights of my trip to Malaysia. Its 50 ringit to go in and 100 extra if you want a boat on the way back. We were lucky and found a boat for the way back. The first 20 mins were the hardest. The rest of the hike was easier in comparison. It is a straightforward route to follow, but going up and down hill had it's tricky parts, and some slippery parts. It took us 1h to get to the end where the title sanctuary is and there was one turtle recovering there. The beach is beautiful but we didn't stay there.
