Safe swimming. Try to pick a high tide as the beach is very flat. Nice old school changing rooms. Bus stop, Cafe, restaurant nearby. Regular ocean swim groups meet here.

One of the best beaches within the city limit. Far better than Mission Bay as it is less crowded and cleaner with more white sand. A perfect place for sun bathing or an afternoon strolls. You can’t beat it on a sunny summer day.

We visited Kohimarama Beach as the summer is quickly coming to an end, and it was a lovely way to soak up the last bits of sunshine. The beach itself is beautiful, with calm waters and a relaxed atmosphere. The community around the area is friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe. There are convenient facilities like changing rooms and toilets nearby, which make the visit even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the outdoor shower to rinse off after swimming. Plus, the on-street parking is close by, making it easy to access the beach without hassle. Overall, a great spot for a day out!

It’s very nice place to swim. Sometimes very busy beach. People still swim in the winter. Big public toilets, changing rooms and shower here. Heaps of seats around under the trees. It was a nice place to walk. Can see Rangitoto island.
