If you're looking for a beach that's truly awesome, then look no further than this gem on the eastern coast of Cuba. Getting here is a breeze, with plenty of transportation options available - whether you prefer the bus, train, or taxi. Personally, we opted for the latter and were pleased to find that our driver was more than happy to arrange a pickup time for us later on.
Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by some of the softest, off-white sand you've ever had the pleasure of sinking your toes into. And the water? It's exactly what you'd expect from the Caribbean - a gorgeous mix of turquoise and deeper shades that will leave you feeling like you've been transported to paradise.
Despite the cool, refreshing waves, you'll find that you can venture quite far out and still feel perfectly safe. And of course, no trip to the tropics would be complete without the sight of palm trees swaying in the breeze along the shoreline.

I share the sentiment of others who have visited this beach. It is a hidden gem, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the things I appreciate about this beach is the small river that flows into it, which provides a natural way to rinse off the salt after a refreshing swim in the ocean. Additionally, there is a memorial marker commemorating the landing of Di Marti after his exile, which adds a historical touch to the already picturesque landscape. For those who want to stay longer, there is a well-equipped campsite nearby with a restaurant that serves delicious food. Although the restaurant may not always be open, when it is, you can expect a satisfying meal. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and a touch of history.

What a charming anecdote! Apparently, back in 1895, two revolutionary heroes, José Martí and Máximo Gómez, made an unexpected pit-stop at this beach. They had hopped off a German fruit steamer that had just left the Bahamas and were on their way to join a rebellion in Cuba. It's hard to imagine the excitement and anticipation they must have felt as they stepped onto this sandy shore, ready to fight for their cause. It's a shame we can't ask them for their thoughts on the beach itself, but I'm sure they were too preoccupied with their mission to notice the beauty around them. Still, it's fascinating to think that this unassuming spot played a small part in such a significant moment in history.

For over a decade, our family has been returning to this breathtaking beach destination. It's a haven for children with its shallow entrance and reliable safety measures. Whether you're gazing out from the water or lounging on the shore, the view is simply stunning. Just a word of caution, about 7 meters from the shore, watch your step in the grass to avoid the prickly sea urchin. Thankfully, the coral reefs protect the shore from waves, making it a perfect spot for swimming and exploring the diverse ocean life. It's quite a sight to see fish follow us around, and while some people feed them, we prefer to offer them a healthy snack. Overall, this beach is a true gem and a must-visit for anyone in the Holguin area. #cubaswimming #holguin #kidssafe

It's a real shame how this beach has been utterly ruined by people. The sand is littered with syringes and plastic waste as far as the eye can see. The locals are relentless in their attempts to peddle their wares, making it impossible to relax. To top it off, families are brazenly drinking schnapps in the water while their young ones frolic nearby. I wouldn't dream of recommending this place to anyone.
