Black Sand Beach is located on the Malacca Strait and it is in the 24th place out of 24 beaches in the Kedah region 60.3 km away from its center, the city of Alor Setar. It is one of the beaches of Kilim Jetty settlement, just 6.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.
It is a straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and gray sand & pebble cover, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season.
Black Sand Beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature. .

Black Sand Beach has a gray sand and pebble cover. It's relatively clean, the surface has a mixed fraction. Turquoise and clear water sparkles in the sun. The entrance to the water is a mixture of sand and pebbles, so it is recommended to wear aqua shoes.
For the main activity - sunbathing, there are no sun loungers on the Black Sand Beach, so you need to take personal items with you and there is a natural shade that can become a lifesaver on a hot day.
The entrance to the water is very smooth, the bottom is comfortable. The prevalence of sharks in the area is low.
Black Sand Beach does not have a wave-protected swimming area, but there are usually no strong waves during the season. The tides are high, so sometimes you have to cross several meters to get to the water.
