Food: We were hungry 95% of the time, mostly surviving on bread and cheese (which was called pizza). The airport also ran out of food, leaving literally NO food available even if you were about to pass out. The all-inclusive package is barely all-inclusive, with food being extremely scarce.
Our fridge contained just 1 bottle of water, 1 beer, and 2 apple waters.
Bugs were everywhere, especially in our rooms and bed. Flies were all over the dining areas, and there was a dead crab outside my room.
The hotel is TWO HOURS away from the airport.
Our flight was leaving at 11pm, but we were denied a late check-out even though the hotel was empty. We ended up waiting in the lobby for 8 hours because there was nothing to do in the hotel.
ALL the swimming pools displayed on the website were out of order. We ONLY swam in the beach and our little swim-up. The pools were empty. If we had known this, we would've never stayed here.
The kids club had no kids.
The bathroom had a leak from the ceiling.
The ambiance of the resort is nice; however, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would ONLY recommend the beach.
The beach was nice except for the fact that people were feeding the pigeons and seagulls so much that the birds invaded the beach.
By far, my least favorite vacation. I would never return. I heard Havana is nice.

I would give this resort a solid 4 stars. Our group consisted of three generations of our family, totaling 11 people. Let me begin by mentioning that our rooms could use some renovations and the shower only provided lukewarm water. However, that is the extent of my criticism. Everything else was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were clean and our gang thoroughly enjoyed the creative towel animals. The staff was truly amazing! A special thank you to the staff at the swim-up bar who cheerfully kept our younger members supplied with lemonade. The pool games and nightly entertainment were enjoyable and catered to all age groups. The beach was stunning. The food was delicious, with plenty of good options available at every meal. We did not experience any of the reported shortages that Cuba has been known for. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. When we needed medical advice, the on-site staff were professional and caring, despite being quite busy. I have a tip regarding tipping. Cubans are unable to use Canadian coins, so it is best to bring $5 bills or US $1 bills. We also informed the staff to approach us when they had $20 in coins, and we exchanged the coins for $20 bills. Thank you, Melia, for providing us with an unforgettable family vacation.

The location, atmosphere, food, and staff at this beach are absolutely fantastic. There are no buildings in sight, just beautiful land and ocean on both sides, creating a calming and relaxing environment. I highly recommend trying the lobster seafood dish, which is absolutely incredible and priced at $20 US or $25 CND. During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting Lenny, who can be seen in one of the attached pictures. It's quite amusing because Lenny doesn't actually own or work at this place; he just visits frequently, so now it's even named after him. If you're willing to spend $40 US on a taxi, I definitely recommend making the trip to Lenny's. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. In fact, it might even be the highlight of your vacation.

If there was a rating of 4.5, this beach would have definitely received it. I was pleasantly surprised because most things are usually overrated. The greeting, atmosphere, and overall setting were very good. I've heard that the sunset there is amazing.
When I arrived, I was greeted at the front door and given the option to choose my seating. I also enjoyed a cold beer while walking around and taking a few pictures of the great view. When I was ready, I placed my order without feeling rushed. There were quite a few other guests, but it didn't affect the service.
The presentation of the food was great. The grilled lobster was cooked perfectly, the shrimp and white fish fillet were delicious, and the veggies and rice complemented the meal well. It was a bit pricey at $35, but it was a special treat for my vacation. Each beer was $5, which was reasonable.
I do want to mention that there were some reports of a dirty washroom, but I personally used it twice and didn't find any issues. There is a flush water bucket for the toilet, which may seem unusual, but it's not a big deal. The beach is right there, so the water is filled up by an employee. There were also reports of no toilet paper, but that is false. As for hand sanitizer, if it was important to me, I would have brought my own, which I did. Oh, and there is plenty of sanitizer available at the front entry if you keep your eyes open.
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth the money and the $35 cab fare (round trip) from Playa Paraiso, for example.

On the first night, we noticed a large stain on the blanket that was about the size of a head. We requested maid service, but all she did was make the bed in a fancy way without replacing the stained blanket. I had to leave a note asking for a new one. Additionally, we also discovered blood stains on one of the pillows. Throughout our entire 7-day stay, the maid never changed the bed covers and simply folded and put back the dirty towels. The towels were never replaced. There was a lack of soap and shampoo, and the toilet was not cleaned at all during our stay. The bathroom did not have a door and faced the entry door of the room, which was quite inconvenient. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was quite bland, but we were aware that this is typical in Cuba. However, the beach itself was absolutely beautiful and the resort provided a peaceful atmosphere. If you're looking for a relaxing trip without high expectations, this resort might suffice. However, I still would not recommend it. If you're seeking entertainment, there are better options available. Overall, I would rate this resort a 6 out of 10, mainly due to the helpful staff and the stunning beach.

Just arrived home from our fifth visit to this resort, and we used to absolutely adore it. The food was fantastic (considering it's Cuba), there was entertainment every evening, and the staff were absolutely incredible. However, this time around, things were quite different. The buffet was closed, leaving us with hardly any food options. We survived on ham and tuna sandwiches. The place was infested with tiny flies that completely covered my fiancé and me, resulting in hundreds of itchy bites. We were famished. Unfortunately, the resort's bank was closed, so we couldn't exchange our money. Only one restaurant was open for dinner, and all other meals were served at the snack bar. I highly recommend checking out the resort next door, the Paradises. We spent a day there, and the experience was truly exceptional. It pains me to say that the Valentin Perla Blanca has significantly declined. We even reached out to the management about our non-functioning toilets, the lack of toilet paper (we were given tissues instead), and the absence of hot water for showers. However, they seemed disinterested in assisting us. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

- This beach is absolutely stunning with its crystal-clear blue waters and pristine white sand.
- The architecture of the resort is breathtaking, giving off a luxurious vibe. The large pools and beautiful greenery make it feel like a paradise. I want to give a special shoutout to the kind and hardworking elderly gardeners who keep this place looking so amazing. They truly deserve blessings.
- The majority of the staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service.
- I highly recommend booking the Jeep Safari excursion for an unforgettable experience.
Negatives:
- The wifi here is extremely unreliable, constantly going in and out.
- The staff could benefit from more English language training in order to better assist guests.
- Unfortunately, the toilet in our room was heavily stained and had flushing issues. However, the maid was very sweet and did her best to accommodate us. It's disappointing to encounter such issues in a supposed "5-star" hotel.
- We experienced difficulties with our room key card multiple times.
- The food lacked flavor and variety for the most part.
- The nightly entertainment was quite underwhelming, resembling an elementary school talent show. However, the karaoke was decent. It seems like they made an effort, but it fell short.
Overall, despite the resort's beauty, I wouldn't consider it a true 5-star hotel. There are numerous areas that need improvement.

This small resort is absolutely amazing! The people here deserve 5+ stars, they truly make this place special. My family and I recently had a fantastic vacation here and we just left feeling absolutely thrilled.
I want to give a special shout out to Yordan and Armando at the pool bar. These guys work incredibly hard, always with a big smile on their faces.
We never had any trouble finding something delicious to eat! The variety of cuisine available was always impressive. Personally, I loved the omelet station.
The quality of a vacation greatly depends on the open-mindedness with which you approach it. Unfortunately, I encountered a few individuals and read some reviews from people who simply don't understand life. It's important to remember that Cuba is a third world country that is doing their best.

Food: We were hungry 95% of the time, mostly surviving on bread and cheese (which was called pizza). The airport also ran out of food, leaving literally NO food available even if you were about to pass out. The all-inclusive package is barely all-inclusive, with food being extremely scarce.
Our fridge contained just 1 bottle of water, 1 beer, and 2 apple waters.
Bugs were everywhere, especially in our rooms and bed. Flies were all over the dining areas, and there was a dead crab outside my room.
The hotel is TWO HOURS away from the airport.
Our flight was leaving at 11pm, but we were denied a late check-out even though the hotel was empty. We ended up waiting in the lobby for 8 hours because there was nothing to do in the hotel.
ALL the swimming pools displayed on the website were out of order. We ONLY swam in the beach and our little swim-up. The pools were empty. If we had known this, we would've never stayed here.
The kids club had no kids.
The bathroom had a leak from the ceiling.
The ambiance of the resort is nice; however, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would ONLY recommend the beach.
The beach was nice except for the fact that people were feeding the pigeons and seagulls so much that the birds invaded the beach.
By far, my least favorite vacation. I would never return. I heard Havana is nice.

I would give this resort a solid 4 stars. Our group consisted of three generations of our family, totaling 11 people. Let me begin by mentioning that our rooms could use some renovations and the shower only provided lukewarm water. However, that is the extent of my criticism. Everything else was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were clean and our gang thoroughly enjoyed the creative towel animals. The staff was truly amazing! A special thank you to the staff at the swim-up bar who cheerfully kept our younger members supplied with lemonade. The pool games and nightly entertainment were enjoyable and catered to all age groups. The beach was stunning. The food was delicious, with plenty of good options available at every meal. We did not experience any of the reported shortages that Cuba has been known for. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. When we needed medical advice, the on-site staff were professional and caring, despite being quite busy. I have a tip regarding tipping. Cubans are unable to use Canadian coins, so it is best to bring $5 bills or US $1 bills. We also informed the staff to approach us when they had $20 in coins, and we exchanged the coins for $20 bills. Thank you, Melia, for providing us with an unforgettable family vacation.

The location, atmosphere, food, and staff at this beach are absolutely fantastic. There are no buildings in sight, just beautiful land and ocean on both sides, creating a calming and relaxing environment. I highly recommend trying the lobster seafood dish, which is absolutely incredible and priced at $20 US or $25 CND. During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting Lenny, who can be seen in one of the attached pictures. It's quite amusing because Lenny doesn't actually own or work at this place; he just visits frequently, so now it's even named after him. If you're willing to spend $40 US on a taxi, I definitely recommend making the trip to Lenny's. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. In fact, it might even be the highlight of your vacation.

If there was a rating of 4.5, this beach would have definitely received it. I was pleasantly surprised because most things are usually overrated. The greeting, atmosphere, and overall setting were very good. I've heard that the sunset there is amazing.
When I arrived, I was greeted at the front door and given the option to choose my seating. I also enjoyed a cold beer while walking around and taking a few pictures of the great view. When I was ready, I placed my order without feeling rushed. There were quite a few other guests, but it didn't affect the service.
The presentation of the food was great. The grilled lobster was cooked perfectly, the shrimp and white fish fillet were delicious, and the veggies and rice complemented the meal well. It was a bit pricey at $35, but it was a special treat for my vacation. Each beer was $5, which was reasonable.
I do want to mention that there were some reports of a dirty washroom, but I personally used it twice and didn't find any issues. There is a flush water bucket for the toilet, which may seem unusual, but it's not a big deal. The beach is right there, so the water is filled up by an employee. There were also reports of no toilet paper, but that is false. As for hand sanitizer, if it was important to me, I would have brought my own, which I did. Oh, and there is plenty of sanitizer available at the front entry if you keep your eyes open.
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth the money and the $35 cab fare (round trip) from Playa Paraiso, for example.

On the first night, we noticed a large stain on the blanket that was about the size of a head. We requested maid service, but all she did was make the bed in a fancy way without replacing the stained blanket. I had to leave a note asking for a new one. Additionally, we also discovered blood stains on one of the pillows. Throughout our entire 7-day stay, the maid never changed the bed covers and simply folded and put back the dirty towels. The towels were never replaced. There was a lack of soap and shampoo, and the toilet was not cleaned at all during our stay. The bathroom did not have a door and faced the entry door of the room, which was quite inconvenient. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was quite bland, but we were aware that this is typical in Cuba. However, the beach itself was absolutely beautiful and the resort provided a peaceful atmosphere. If you're looking for a relaxing trip without high expectations, this resort might suffice. However, I still would not recommend it. If you're seeking entertainment, there are better options available. Overall, I would rate this resort a 6 out of 10, mainly due to the helpful staff and the stunning beach.

Just arrived home from our fifth visit to this resort, and we used to absolutely adore it. The food was fantastic (considering it's Cuba), there was entertainment every evening, and the staff were absolutely incredible. However, this time around, things were quite different. The buffet was closed, leaving us with hardly any food options. We survived on ham and tuna sandwiches. The place was infested with tiny flies that completely covered my fiancé and me, resulting in hundreds of itchy bites. We were famished. Unfortunately, the resort's bank was closed, so we couldn't exchange our money. Only one restaurant was open for dinner, and all other meals were served at the snack bar. I highly recommend checking out the resort next door, the Paradises. We spent a day there, and the experience was truly exceptional. It pains me to say that the Valentin Perla Blanca has significantly declined. We even reached out to the management about our non-functioning toilets, the lack of toilet paper (we were given tissues instead), and the absence of hot water for showers. However, they seemed disinterested in assisting us. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

- This beach is absolutely stunning with its crystal-clear blue waters and pristine white sand.
- The architecture of the resort is breathtaking, giving off a luxurious vibe. The large pools and beautiful greenery make it feel like a paradise. I want to give a special shoutout to the kind and hardworking elderly gardeners who keep this place looking so amazing. They truly deserve blessings.
- The majority of the staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service.
- I highly recommend booking the Jeep Safari excursion for an unforgettable experience.
Negatives:
- The wifi here is extremely unreliable, constantly going in and out.
- The staff could benefit from more English language training in order to better assist guests.
- Unfortunately, the toilet in our room was heavily stained and had flushing issues. However, the maid was very sweet and did her best to accommodate us. It's disappointing to encounter such issues in a supposed "5-star" hotel.
- We experienced difficulties with our room key card multiple times.
- The food lacked flavor and variety for the most part.
- The nightly entertainment was quite underwhelming, resembling an elementary school talent show. However, the karaoke was decent. It seems like they made an effort, but it fell short.
Overall, despite the resort's beauty, I wouldn't consider it a true 5-star hotel. There are numerous areas that need improvement.

This small resort is absolutely amazing! The people here deserve 5+ stars, they truly make this place special. My family and I recently had a fantastic vacation here and we just left feeling absolutely thrilled.
I want to give a special shout out to Yordan and Armando at the pool bar. These guys work incredibly hard, always with a big smile on their faces.
We never had any trouble finding something delicious to eat! The variety of cuisine available was always impressive. Personally, I loved the omelet station.
The quality of a vacation greatly depends on the open-mindedness with which you approach it. Unfortunately, I encountered a few individuals and read some reviews from people who simply don't understand life. It's important to remember that Cuba is a third world country that is doing their best.

Just arrived home from our fifth visit to this resort, and we used to absolutely adore it. The food was fantastic (considering it's Cuba), there was entertainment every evening, and the staff were absolutely incredible. However, this time around, things were quite different. The buffet was closed, leaving us with hardly any food options. We survived on ham and tuna sandwiches. The place was infested with tiny flies that completely covered my fiancé and me, resulting in hundreds of itchy bites. We were famished. Unfortunately, the resort's bank was closed, so we couldn't exchange our money. Only one restaurant was open for dinner, and all other meals were served at the snack bar. I highly recommend checking out the resort next door, the Paradises. We spent a day there, and the experience was truly exceptional. It pains me to say that the Valentin Perla Blanca has significantly declined. We even reached out to the management about our non-functioning toilets, the lack of toilet paper (we were given tissues instead), and the absence of hot water for showers. However, they seemed disinterested in assisting us. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Food: We were hungry 95% of the time, mostly surviving on bread and cheese (which was called pizza). The airport also ran out of food, leaving literally NO food available even if you were about to pass out. The all-inclusive package is barely all-inclusive, with food being extremely scarce.
Our fridge contained just 1 bottle of water, 1 beer, and 2 apple waters.
Bugs were everywhere, especially in our rooms and bed. Flies were all over the dining areas, and there was a dead crab outside my room.
The hotel is TWO HOURS away from the airport.
Our flight was leaving at 11pm, but we were denied a late check-out even though the hotel was empty. We ended up waiting in the lobby for 8 hours because there was nothing to do in the hotel.
ALL the swimming pools displayed on the website were out of order. We ONLY swam in the beach and our little swim-up. The pools were empty. If we had known this, we would've never stayed here.
The kids club had no kids.
The bathroom had a leak from the ceiling.
The ambiance of the resort is nice; however, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would ONLY recommend the beach.
The beach was nice except for the fact that people were feeding the pigeons and seagulls so much that the birds invaded the beach.
By far, my least favorite vacation. I would never return. I heard Havana is nice.

On the first night, we noticed a large stain on the blanket that was about the size of a head. We requested maid service, but all she did was make the bed in a fancy way without replacing the stained blanket. I had to leave a note asking for a new one. Additionally, we also discovered blood stains on one of the pillows. Throughout our entire 7-day stay, the maid never changed the bed covers and simply folded and put back the dirty towels. The towels were never replaced. There was a lack of soap and shampoo, and the toilet was not cleaned at all during our stay. The bathroom did not have a door and faced the entry door of the room, which was quite inconvenient. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was quite bland, but we were aware that this is typical in Cuba. However, the beach itself was absolutely beautiful and the resort provided a peaceful atmosphere. If you're looking for a relaxing trip without high expectations, this resort might suffice. However, I still would not recommend it. If you're seeking entertainment, there are better options available. Overall, I would rate this resort a 6 out of 10, mainly due to the helpful staff and the stunning beach.

I would give this resort a solid 4 stars. Our group consisted of three generations of our family, totaling 11 people. Let me begin by mentioning that our rooms could use some renovations and the shower only provided lukewarm water. However, that is the extent of my criticism. Everything else was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were clean and our gang thoroughly enjoyed the creative towel animals. The staff was truly amazing! A special thank you to the staff at the swim-up bar who cheerfully kept our younger members supplied with lemonade. The pool games and nightly entertainment were enjoyable and catered to all age groups. The beach was stunning. The food was delicious, with plenty of good options available at every meal. We did not experience any of the reported shortages that Cuba has been known for. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. When we needed medical advice, the on-site staff were professional and caring, despite being quite busy. I have a tip regarding tipping. Cubans are unable to use Canadian coins, so it is best to bring $5 bills or US $1 bills. We also informed the staff to approach us when they had $20 in coins, and we exchanged the coins for $20 bills. Thank you, Melia, for providing us with an unforgettable family vacation.

On the first night, we noticed a large stain on the blanket that was about the size of a head. We requested maid service, but all she did was make the bed in a fancy way without replacing the stained blanket. I had to leave a note asking for a new one. Additionally, we also discovered blood stains on one of the pillows. Throughout our entire 7-day stay, the maid never changed the bed covers and simply folded and put back the dirty towels. The towels were never replaced. There was a lack of soap and shampoo, and the toilet was not cleaned at all during our stay. The bathroom did not have a door and faced the entry door of the room, which was quite inconvenient. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was quite bland, but we were aware that this is typical in Cuba. However, the beach itself was absolutely beautiful and the resort provided a peaceful atmosphere. If you're looking for a relaxing trip without high expectations, this resort might suffice. However, I still would not recommend it. If you're seeking entertainment, there are better options available. Overall, I would rate this resort a 6 out of 10, mainly due to the helpful staff and the stunning beach.

Just arrived home from our fifth visit to this resort, and we used to absolutely adore it. The food was fantastic (considering it's Cuba), there was entertainment every evening, and the staff were absolutely incredible. However, this time around, things were quite different. The buffet was closed, leaving us with hardly any food options. We survived on ham and tuna sandwiches. The place was infested with tiny flies that completely covered my fiancé and me, resulting in hundreds of itchy bites. We were famished. Unfortunately, the resort's bank was closed, so we couldn't exchange our money. Only one restaurant was open for dinner, and all other meals were served at the snack bar. I highly recommend checking out the resort next door, the Paradises. We spent a day there, and the experience was truly exceptional. It pains me to say that the Valentin Perla Blanca has significantly declined. We even reached out to the management about our non-functioning toilets, the lack of toilet paper (we were given tissues instead), and the absence of hot water for showers. However, they seemed disinterested in assisting us. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Food: We were hungry 95% of the time, mostly surviving on bread and cheese (which was called pizza). The airport also ran out of food, leaving literally NO food available even if you were about to pass out. The all-inclusive package is barely all-inclusive, with food being extremely scarce.
Our fridge contained just 1 bottle of water, 1 beer, and 2 apple waters.
Bugs were everywhere, especially in our rooms and bed. Flies were all over the dining areas, and there was a dead crab outside my room.
The hotel is TWO HOURS away from the airport.
Our flight was leaving at 11pm, but we were denied a late check-out even though the hotel was empty. We ended up waiting in the lobby for 8 hours because there was nothing to do in the hotel.
ALL the swimming pools displayed on the website were out of order. We ONLY swam in the beach and our little swim-up. The pools were empty. If we had known this, we would've never stayed here.
The kids club had no kids.
The bathroom had a leak from the ceiling.
The ambiance of the resort is nice; however, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would ONLY recommend the beach.
The beach was nice except for the fact that people were feeding the pigeons and seagulls so much that the birds invaded the beach.
By far, my least favorite vacation. I would never return. I heard Havana is nice.
